Su May graduated from University of London, with a First Class degree in Economics. She brings to Ascendogroup a wealth of experience with more than 10 years in investment banking and Islamic banking industry.

During her career, she had served in Commerce International Merchant Bankers Berhad’s (“CIMB”) Corporate Finance, Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets departments where she was involved in the origination, execution and/or placements of numerous initial public offerings; equity and equity-linked fund raisings; mergers and acquisitions; general offers and debt restructurings.

 
 
 
In Year 2004, Su May moved on to RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers Berhad (“RHB Sakura”), where she was responsible for originating equity-based deals. One of her big achievements was her involvement in 2004’s largest and most successful IPO, AirAsia Bhd., which attracted a market capitalization of RM2.7 billion.
 
       
 
In Year 2005, Su May left RHB Sakura to set up the Malaysian representative office for Unicorn Investment Bank B.S.C.(c), a full-fledge Shari’ah compliant investment bank based in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Su May was the pioneer staff and a Founder of Unicorn International Islamic Bank Malaysia Berhad. Her main responsibility was to source for Shari’ah compliant private equity and M&A (both strategic and opportunistic) deals from the Southeast Asian region. One of the most notable deal that she was actively involved in was the launch of bid to acquire a significant stake of 49% effective interests in Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, the first and oldest Islamic bank in Malaysia, valued at approx. RM1.0 bil (USD270.0 mil). Su May also placed out a substantial portion of the 2 Saudi corporate sukuks worth USD1.6 billion in total to the South East Asia investors. She also assumed the position of Head of Strategic Planning/Direct Investments during her time in Unicorn.
 
       
  Wan Zuria Wan Awang Mahmud

Wan Zuria has more than 10 years experience in consulting, debt capital market, corporate banking as well as retail banking with several leading establishment in Malaysia namely Arab-Malaysian Bank Berhad (now known as AmBank Berhad) Aseambankers Berhad, Amanah Short Deposits Berhad and PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting.

Ms. Wan Zuria’s has been involved in numerous corporate banking / debt capital market activities such as debt-origination and sales, fund raising, corporate loan and corporate loan restructuring. In addition, Ms. Wan Zuria also has an extensive experience in consulting financial institutions on their financial management information system.

Ms. Wan Zuria holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from University Teknologi Mara and a Master of Business Administration from Ohio University, United States of America. Wan Zuria is also Chartered Accountant and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

 
     
  Leong Choong Wah

Leong Choong Wah, is the Director, Corporate Advisory of Ascendo Group Sdn Bhd (Ascendo). He is a qualified Accountant and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (“MIA”), Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“MICPA”) and Australia Certified Practicing Accountants (“Aust CPA”).

Leong has accumulated over 23 years of extensive working experience in the fields of advisory, management, financial, strategic and corporate planning in property development, oil & gas, food & beverage and manufacturing companies. Other than his initial years articleship with Price Waterhouse, all of Leong’s experience had been accumulated under an entrepreneur and public listed environment thereafter ventured into Corporate Advisory with Ascendo.

Prior to Ascendo, he was head-hunted to joint Malaysia Pacific Corporation Berhad (“MPCB”), a property development company listed on the Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd (Bursa i.e. Malaysian Stock Exchange) as MPCB’s Chief Operating Officer/ Finance Director. Leong had also previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Petaling Tin Berhad, another property development company listed on Bursa and several other companies listed on Bursa. Leong had also previously appointed as an Executive Director of a Bursa listed company and several other private limited companies.

 
     
  Lim Tiong Jin

Lim Tiong Jin has over 20 years’ of relevant working experience. He started out his career with Price Waterhouse Coopers, a leading international accounting firm.  He later moved on to Perdana Merchant Bank where he handled investment banking and corporate finance transactions particularly involving Mergers & Acquisitions, IPO, Capital Raising and Corporate Restructuring.  He subsequently progressed to senior management positions in PLC’s listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia, first as Head of Corporate Planning in Tanco Holdings Berhad, a leading timeshare and property company, and later on as Executive Director / CFO of Karambunai Corp Berhad, a well renowned resort and property group. Tiong Jin is regarded by many as a resourceful person who delivers practical and innovative solutions to seemingly daunting problems. Tiong Jin is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ACIS) and Fellow Member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA).
